Monday February 15
Amherst Island

Leave Meadowbrook at 5:30 am. Pick up Mike, Ann and Mac
Stop at the DuPont Hot Ponds in Kingston
Catch the 1:30 pm ferry to Amherst Island. Bird the east end of the island and Owl Woods.

Day 2
Tuesday February 16

Kingston and Ottawa Areas

Bird the corridor between Kingston and Ottawa, targeting local specialties and vagrant birds.

Wednesday February 17
Algonquin Park
Algonquin Park including Oponogo Road, Visitor Center, Spruce Bog Trail, campgrounds, etc.
Huntsville

Thursday February 18
Huntsville, Bracebridge, Orillia, Niagara Falls areas
After a stop at feeders in Bracebridge, will work our way work down to Orillia. There we will enjoy the hospitailty of local birders. Hamilton Harbor will be checked for waterfowl before moving on to Niagara Falls.

Friday February 19

Niagara Falls area, spots on the way home.
We will check along the Niagara River for any reported rairites. On the way home we may stop at Batavia Wastewater Treatment Plant and Montezuma NWR.

Timing –
Monday Morning
Karl will spend Sunday night at Bert’s.
Connie will arrive at Bert’s by 5:30 am
Quick stop for coffee
Pick up Mike, Ann and Mac
Head north
Food
This will be a trip of quick lunches (mostly Tim Horton's)
Dinners will be at appropriate restaurants.
Rooms
We have three rooms each night. Bert and Karl in a double. Connie and Ann in a double. Mike and Mac in a double. All lodging costs will be split equally.

Documentation - IMPORTANT
Bring your passport. You need this to enter Canada and then to reenter the US.
Gas, Tolls, etc.
Since this is a “shared expenses trip” we will keep track of tolls, gas, parking, etc. After the trip we will figure out each person’s share.
Weather Contingency Plan
We are going.
Clothing
Dress warm, we all know the drill.
Packing
Since there are six of us there will be using a roof carrier. It will be hard to get into it during the day. Plan accordingly
Checklists
A checklist has been made up and we will do the traditional evening compilation each night. Lead person for each night: Monday – Connie, Tuesday – Karl, Wednesday – Mike, Thursday - Ann, Friday - group effort as we drive home.
Tunes
Feel free to bring CDs for the ride. Bert will have his iPod. (You have been warned!). Satellite radio is available in the van.
