Saturday
We spent the day exploring the prairies and lakes south of Brandon. We added about 10 more species to our trip list which now stands at about 143. Tonight we gave the Yellow Rail another shot. In spite of what we felt were perfect conditions we did not hear any call. The whole marsh seemed quieter than last night. Around dinner time Karl misplaced his wallet for about an hour. That made for a stressful time but it was eventually found.
