At dawn this morning we viewed Lesser Prairie Chickens on a lek near Elkhart, Kansas. We are indebted to Ruth and Lawrence Smith for being such gracious hosts and spending time with us.

After leaving Elkhart we had the long haul back west to the Rocky Mountains. We made several stops along the way but much of the day was spent driving.
