Monday

We worked ourselves south from Lamar, Colorado to Elkhart, Kansas today. After the mountains and snow of western Colorado, today was a real change. Clear skies and distant horizons.

Bird highlights were Burrowing Owls, Wilson's Phalarope, Eastern Phoebe, Palm Warbler and lots of waterfowl.

Tonight we had dinner with Lawrence and Ruth Smith of Elkhart, KS. A wonderful couple who we were honored to meet.
