"On The Road" #3 Posted April 9, 2008 From Grand Junction

We were out of the motel at 4:30 am and on our way to the Gunnison Sage-Grouse lek. As the sun rose we saw 35+ grouse displaying. A wonderful experience.

We spent the rest of the day birding from Gunnison to Grand Junction. Sandhill Cranes, Rock Wrens, Canyon Wrens, Lewis's Woodpeckers and Golden Eagles were among the favorite birds.

We ended our day in Grand Junction. We had snow and rain showers off and on during the day but it did not affect our birding.
