Overnight: GunnisonSHARP TAILED GROUSE LEK: Opp. Gravel pit, small hill 20' high - go past and look back at the lek (P.26) This morning (Sunday April 1) at about 7 am, I found 8 male Sharp-tailed Grouse at the lek west of Twenty Mile Rd 8.6 mi. south of highway 40. In addition to the Grouse displaying, I saw 2 pairs of 2 flying away. The lek is on a round hill-top west of an old section of Twenty Mile Rd which serves as a safe pullover and observation point. Even though the Grouse were at quite a distance, I could still hear their cooing and calling.
