Update #5 Posted 7:00 pm PDT Monday September 10
Another amazing day of birding! Rarely does a Northern Pygmy Owl seen well take a back seat to another species.
But.......................this morning, as we drove down the entry road to the San Bernadino Valley Audubon's Bear Paw Sanctuary (see above) a group of 10+ Mountain Quail slowly crossed the road ahead of us. Unbelievable!. This was a "only in your dreams" species for us. Everyone told us that we would be lucky to hear them and the chances of seeing them were almost nil. Sometimes it just play to be lucky!
This afternoon we enjoyed the birding around the Salton Sea
