A day of contrasts. This morning we were along the coast as La Jolla seeing thousands of Red-necked Phalaropes just offshore. Then we went to Fort Rosencrans National Cemetery for land birding. By 3 pm we were near Brawley enjpoying the Salton Sea area. As we drove back to the motel about 6:30 pm we saw over 50 Burrowing Owls along the roadside. A remarkable day.
