An uneventful flight out got us to Los Angeles by 10:30 am. We hit several birding spots south of Los Angeles before we met Kaaren Perry at 3:30 pm. Our major goal of the day, the California Gnatcatcher was right where it was supposed to be and every one got "crippling looks". After several spots for "rock pipers" we went to our motel in Dana Point. It was a long wonderful, tiring day.
