Report 5
Posted 10/8/05 at 8:45 pm PDT from Watsonville

Our pelagic was a little bit rough this today. The swells and waves made it hard to find and stay on the birds. Nevertheless we had some good birds.
Black-footed Albatross
Pink-footed Shearwater
Buller's Shearwater
Sooty Shearwater
Short-tailed Shearwater
Ashy Storm Petrel
Red-necked Phalarope
South Polar Skua
Pomarine Jaeger
Parasitic Jaeger
Common Murre
Pigeon Guillemont
Rhinoceros Auklet
Jane Henderson and Bob Cohen hosted us for dinner tonight in Santa Cruz. It was great to relax and talk with them.
Everyone is tired. Tomorrow promised to be a long day. We have a long pelagic and then a long drive to Bodega Bay. We do not expect to have Internet access there so there will be no reports for a couple of days.
